1. Replace your HVAC filter
- Improves airflow efficiency, reduces wear and tear on your system, and can help lower your utility bills.
2. Consider running your HVAC fan periodically (or continuously)
- This helps filter the air in your home, evenly distribute conditioned air, and reduce hot or cold spots between rooms.
3. Check under all sinks for leaks
- Small leaks often go unnoticed and can turn into major problems if left unresolved. If you haven’t looked under a sink recently, it’s worth a quick check.
4. Clean your dryer vent on the exterior of your home.
- Lint buildup reduces efficiency, increases drying time, and is a leading cause of house fires.
5. Unscrew your exterior hoses
- This is a little late for the 2025-2026 season and I plan to send this reminder again in October for Qtr. 3 2026.
I have gone back and forth on sending out these home maintenance tips like this for quite a while. I don’t want to flood your emails with unnecessary fluff. That said, after helping people with their homes for the last 8 years, I’ve seen how a few simple reminders for each season can reduce the cost of homeownership by eliminating/reducing repair bills. That’s my goal here. If you need help with anything, please call, text or email me! I am happy to help provide a contact, a YouTube video, my experience, or even lend a tool if it can be helpful.
Thanks!
